The new structure for a staff of 300 has an L-shaped floor plan and is designed towards the depth of the lot, so that an access path could be planned under the driveway. The generous, glass-walled foyer, over which the upper levels of the street frontage seem to float, was moved to the facade as an eyecatcher, but also in order to keep traffic noise from the heavily frequented Wienerbergstrasse away from the offices. The cafeteria was placed on the gallery of the foyer, as a “floating cube”. Continuous parapet bands give the building a functional but modern flair and emphasize the building’s sense of depth.
