How can you fit furnishings into a space with a ring-shaped layout? By placing the kitchen and counter (the only closable unit of the restaurant) as a compact box at the edge, so the rest of the space can remain free for the sitting area. In this case, the emphasis was on stability and indestructibility of furniture and surfaces.
